Bohemians left frustrated by stubborn Icelanders
BOHEMIANS FAILED TO break the deadlock in the first leg of the Europa League tie at Dalymount Park this evening, drawing 0-0 with Thor Akureyri.
After the visitors, who play in the Icelandic second division, went close early on, Bohs proceeded to dominate the remainder of the half, with Dwayne Wilson forcing the keeper into a decent save, and Peter McMahon seeing his goal ruled out for a handball in the build-up.
The hosts failed to continue to intensively pressurise the opposition in the second half, with chances few and far between for both sides.
However, Ryan McEvoy almost won it in the dying stages, with a powerful shot from distance.
The result means Bohs still have much to do in order to progress to the next round, as they prepare to travel to Iceland next week.
