Building for the future: Munster sign former South African Schools captain

The province have confirmed the signing of the highly promising wing forward.

MUNSTER TODAY CONFIRMED the signing of CJ Stander, a former South African Schools captain and under-20 international.

The 22-year-old, who can play at either flanker or number eight, has already made 13 appearances for the Bulls in Super Rugby.

He joins the province on a two-year contract, though the deal is subject to him passing a fitness test, in addition to acquiring a work permit, after his season with the Bulls ends.

The news will be come as a relief to Munster, who have endured an indifferent season, which was exacerbated by the retirement of key players, including David Wallace and Mick O’Driscoll.
