After last night’s drama in Killarney and Salthill, we know three of this year’s All-Ireland semi-finalists — but who will fill the final spot, and progress to a meeting with Monaghan this day next week?

A win of any description in Ballybofey this afternoon, or even a draw, will suffice for Tyrone — but for Donegal, nothing less than victory will do.

Throw-in is at 3.30pm.

The other game in Group 2 — the meeting of Dublin and Roscommon in Croke Park — is as dead a rubber as dead rubbers come. We’ll keep you up to speed with any developments of note from HQ.

6 mins — Dublin 0-3 Roscommon 0-2: Nip and tuck in the opening stages; John Small nudges the Dubs back in front.

9 mins – Connor McAliskey has a seemingly straightforward free with the wind at his back but drops it short.

12 mins – Mattie Donnelly pops a pass that allows Cathal McShane to come on to it at pace. Neil McGee catches McShane high and it’s a soft free for Tyrone and a yellow card for McGee to boot.

13 mins — Tyrone 0-3 Donegal 0-1: McAliskey converts.

12 mins — Dublin 0-6 Roscommon 0-2: Cormac Costello has four of Dublin’s six points so far.

17 mins – Donegal work the ball into position for Jamie Brennan to shoot, but Colm Cavanagh closes him down and blocks it wide for a 45.

18 mins — Tyrone 0-3 Donegal 0-2: Murphy makes no mistake with the resulting 45.

19 mins — Tyrone 0-4 Donegal 0-2: Mattie Donnelly shows great strength to power through a few Donegal tackles and kicks a point off his left that glances off the far post before dropping over.

21 mins – McAliskey is heckled from the crowd as he lines up a free to put Tyrone three up, and duly pulls it wide. Still 0-4 to 0-2.

23 mins — Tyrone 0-4 Donegal 0-3: Ryan McHugh takes the ball on the run, shrugs off the chasing Conor Meyler, and curls over a point. That’ll lift Donegal.

24 mins — Tyrone 0-4 Donegal 0-4: Ciaran Thompson sidesteps Mattie Donnelly with a show and go and then curls the ball over the bar to level things up.

26 mins — Tyrone 0-5 Donegal 0-5: Colm Cavanagh pits Tyrone back in front but Jamie Brennan cancels it out. After a slow start, the hosts have found their feet.

36 mins — GOAL FOR DONEGAL! Donegal 1-6 Tyrone 0-5: Ohhhh no. Tyrone try to take the kickout short and quickly, Ryan McHugh closes it down and gets a hand in to rob possession, and he sets up Michael Murphy who buries the chance. Donegal hadn’t been in front until a moment ago — now they lead by four.

35+5 mins — Donegal 1-6 Tyrone 0-6: Connor McAliskey kicks a free — Tyrone’s first point in 15 minutes — to send them in on something of a high.

SECOND HALF: Back underway in Croker — and Roscommon have struck early! Gary Patterson in the opening minute to make it 2-18 to 1-7.

39 mins — Donegal 1-7 Tyrone 0-7: Peter Harte brings Tyrone back within three with a free.

40 mins — Donegal 1-9 Tyrone 0-9: Two points in quick succession for Odhran MacNiallais, matched just as quickly by two from Lee Brennan. Donegal still three up.

50 mins — GOAL FOR DUBLIN! Dublin 4-18 Roscommon 1-9: Eoghan O’Gara again! Dublin’s lead now stands at 18 with 20 minutes to play.

48 mins — Donegal 1-10 Tyrone 0-10: Every time Donegal get their nose in front, Tyrone respond. Jamie Brennan’s point is met in return by Padraig Hampsey. The game is starting to open up a bit now.

49 mins — OOOOOH SO CLOSE! Cathal McShane was a stud length away from getting a touch on that ball across the face of the Donegal goal to score.  We should be all square here really.

58 mins – The second half in Croke Park started a bit earlier; Roscommon scored through Donie Smith but they still trail by 4-22 to 2-10.

54 mins — Donegal 1-11 Tyrone 0-11: Lee Brennan’s free brings Donegal back to three points again. They haven’t been able to get closer than that.

55 mins — Donegal 1-11 Tyrone 0-12: And now they do! Tyrone force the turnover, work the ball into position, and Padraig Hampsey points. All set for a grandstand finish in Ballybofey.

35 mins — Tyrone 1-16 Donegal 1-12: Lee Brennan has had a huge impact on this game. He points again and Tyrone’s lead is now four.

Seven additional minutes to be played in Ballybofey but Donegal need a miracle.

70+2 mins — Tyrone 1-16 Donegal 1-13: Niall O’Donnell gets Donegal back within three, but they still need two scores at least to turn this one around. A draw is no good.

A lengthy break in play while Conor Meyler is being treated for an injury. He’s helped from the pitch.

70+11 mins – There was a collision in front of the Tyrone goal and Joe McQuillan has awarded a free to Donegal. They’ll have a chance to drill it at goal… but even if it goes in, surely they won’t have time for another attack…

Tyrone will play Monaghan in the All-Ireland SFC semi-finals next Sunday, 13 August.

Tyrone rub salt in the Donegal wounds late on as they break with superior numbers and Declan McClure effectively walks the ball past Shaun Patton and into the Donegal net.

Ballybofey hasn’t always been the happiest hunting ground for Tyrone but there were no issues today. Their bench totally transformed a tight game in the final quarter — they scored 2-5 of Tyrone’s 2-17 total.
