TYRONE SECURED A Dr. McKenna Cup semi-final with Armagh thanks to a seven point win over Antrim today.
Man of the match Sean Cavanagh scored four points but it was his long range effort three minutes after half time which hit the crossbar and bounced into the path of Kyle Coney which proved decisive in a 1-11 to 0-7 win.

Cavan’s path to the final four was much less comfortable as they survived a ferocious Monaghan fightback to book their spot in the last four of the competition.
The Breffni raced into a 0-12 to 0-4 half time lead but needed two goal line stops in the final minute to secure a 1-13 to 0-13 victory in a game in which no fewer than five players saw the line.
They’ll face Fermanagh in the semi-finals despite the Ernesiders falling to a one-point defeat to Donegal today.
With Rory Gallagher’s charges looking set to qualify on score difference when leading 0-12 to 0-4 at the break, second half goals from Martin O’Brien and Sean Quigley – coupled with Queen’s defeat of Derry – was enough to see Fermanagh through despite the 0-12 to 2-5 scoreline in Donegal’s favour.
