Double delight for McCoy as Gilgamboa wins Gold Cup at Fairyhouse

The 7/1 shot got the better of favourite Gitane Du Berlais and The Tullow Tank in the Grade One feature this afternoon.

AP MCCOY WAS at his best as he earned victory in the Ryanair Gold Cup Novice Chase at Fairyhouse today.

The 40-year-old, who is set to retire at the end of the British season in April, came home first on Enda Bolger-trained Gilgamboa (7/1) with the Tullow Tank (9/1) second, Smashing (25/1) third and favourite Gitane Du Berlais (5/4f) back in fourth.

It was his second win of the day as Sir Scorpion (6/4f) triumphed in the Novice Handicap Hurdle.
