JUST FORTY-EIGHT hours before Bruce Springsteen plays on Cork’s Páirc Uí Chaoimh’s famous pitch, The Boss outed himself as a Limerick hurling fan last night.
Springsteen played a trademark marathon show at the home of Munster Rugby, Thomond Park, yesterday evening to kick off his Irish tour dates.
But the E Street Band front man took time out to hail the newly-crowned Munster hurling champions.
The Treaty ended a 17-year wait for the provincial title on Sunday as they beat the Rebels at the Gaelic Grounds. Springsteen dedicated Glory Days to John Allen’s panel, some of which were present.

The New Jersey rocker also surprised the crowd by paying tribute to JT McNamara, the Limerick jockey who was seriously injured at the Cheltenham Festival last March.
“All of our love and prayers to JT McNamara,” Springsteen said before playing My Hometown for the recovering jockey.
