O'Donoghue's Legion knocked out and Shannon Rangers shock South Kerry in quarter-final clashes

Austin Stack Park in Tralee is the venue for both today’s quarter-finals.

JAMES O’DONOGHUE’S LEGION were knocked out of this year’s championship today by a determined Dingle team.

Two first half goals within three minutes left Legion leading 2-2 to 0-3 and seemingly cruising, although by half-time Dingle had reduced the margin to just two points.

But then within two minutes of the second-half and Dingle were ahead thanks to a Mark O’Connor goal, and while Legion regained a foothold, Matthew Flaherty’s goal on 64 minutes sent Dingle into the semi-finals.

In today’s other Kerry SFC match; 37 years after their last county title and Shannon Rangers are through to the Kerry senior football championship semi-final after an eight-point win over nine-time winners South Kerry in Tralee this afternoon.
