Shane Curran shares an emotional moment with Cillian O'Connor as Brigid's dream dies

Is this it for one of the GAA’s biggest characters?

SHANE CURRAN HAS been around the block plenty of times but the losses don’t get any easier.

The veteran keeper was clearly emotional at the final whistle as his club St Brigid’s Roscommon crashed out of the Connacht SFC championship against Ballintubber.

It was a first ever provincial win for the Mayo men and afterwards, Curran and Tubber star Cillian O’Connor shared an emotional embrace.

The man affectionately dubbed “Cake” is, without a doubt, one of the GAA’s biggest characters.

Now 43, was this his last hurrah or will he be back for another shot at club glory in 2015?
