POLL: Is Joe Brolly right, should inter-county teams only hire from within?

The Sunday Game pundit made the comments on Saturday.

YESTERDAY, CONTROVERSIAL SUNDAY Game pundit Joe Brolly continued his one-man campaign to rejuvenate inter-county football by suggesting that inter-county teams should end the practise of hiring outside managers.

Brolly, speaking on RTÉ’s Sunday Sport, said that – by forcing teams to hire from within – the GAA could return to the “community-based idealistic organisation that we’re meant to be”

The Derry native’s comments sparked some debate both online and in our very own comment section so today, what we want to know is, do you think he is correct to call for an end to the hiring of ‘outside’ managers?

Poll Results:

Yes, counties should only hire from within (1361)
No, teams should hire the best available (1334)
Don't know (146)
