TIM CAHILL IS currently on international duty as his native Australia host the Asia Cup.

The former Everton attacking midfielder, nowadays playing his club football with MLS club New York Red Bulls, was warming up before the Socceroos’ group game against Kuwait at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium when his son shouted for a pass — from the stand.

Australia went on to win the game 3-1 with Cahill bagging the opener. They are joint top of Group A with South Korea after claiming maximum points from two matches.
