IT’S FAIR TO say that rugby referee Wayne Barnes isn’t the most popular man in the sport.

While some referees enjoy a healthy level of respect from the general public and one in particular (we’re looking at you, Nigel) receives something close to adulation. Poor old Barsney seems to rub everyone from Southland to Scotland up the wrong way.
