Contador must wait until 2012 to learn fate
SPANISH CYCLIST ALBERTO Contador is unlikely to learn the final verdict on his failed dope test until next year, it has been announced.
Contador tested positive for the banned substance clenbuterol during the 2010 Tour de France, but has protested his innocence ever since, insisting he unintentionally consumed the substance after he eating contaminated meat.
Contador was cleared by the Spanish federation, however the International Cycling Union and the World Anti-Doping Agency have appealed this decision.
And despite the hearing taking place this week, the issue is unlikely to be resolved until next year.
