Huge amount at stake in Páirc Uí Rinn. Cork were defeated last week by Kilkenny at home while Clare lost away to Galway. Another defeat for either would leave them with a major task to survive in Division 1A.

Relentless stuff so far in the scoring stakes. Horgan and Alan Cadogan draw Cork level before Colin Ryan caps a lung-bursting run by smashing over a point for Clare.

Great covering work by Daniel Kearney for Cork in gathering the ball. He outsprints Conor Ryan, who slips, and then the Sarsfields man calmly despatches a point.

Cork string a nice run of scores. Luke O’Farrell and Cormac Murphy on target from play, Horgan from a ’65 and then from play. They go four clear. It could have been better for Cork as well but twice Horgan was denied goals by brave saves from Clare goalkeeper Patrick Kelly.
