Wicklow complete sensational comeback while Offaly maintain their 100% record

There were also wins for Longford and Carlow in Division Four today.

WICKLOW OVERTURNED A five-point half time deficit to pip Leitrim at the death in their Division Four clash today. The visitors were in control during the opening 35 minutes and built a 0-09 to 0-04 lead at half time after kicking the opening nine scores.

Whatever Johnny Magee said to his Wicklow team at half time must have worked because they gradually eroded the deficit throughout the second half and only allowed one further score.

John McGrath and Sean Furlong kicked two late points to put the home side 0-11 to 0-09 in front so after kicking nine unanswered points in the first half, Leitrim allowed 11 in-a-row in the second 35. Kevin Conlan reduced the gap with late free but Wicklow held on to win by one.

Earlier in the day, Carlow saw off London by 2-09 to 0-13 with second half goals from Hugh Gahan and Darragh O’Brien proving decisive.

Also, Offaly are now top of Division Four as the only side with a 100% record after a 0-13 to 1-04 win over Waterford. In the final Division Four clash, Longford eked out a slender 0-14 to 0-13 win over visitors Antrim.
