Eidur Gudjohnsen scored his first Bolton goal today since Maniac 2000 was a smash hit

Gudjohnsen waited a long time to score another goal in a Bolton jersey.

NEIL LENNON IS plotting Bolton’s return to the top-flight and up front he has two Premier League veterans in Emile Heskey and Eidur Gudjohnsen.

Heskey got on the score-sheet a few weeks back and today the Icelandic striker netted in Bolton’s 1-1 draw with Leeds. Gudjohnsen previously played for the club between 1998-2000 and there was a funny statistic floating around after his goal.

When Gudjohnsen last scored for Bolton before today, American Beauty had won Best Picture at the Oscars, Ireland had just missed out on qualification for Euro 2000 and Jennifer Lopez was named the world’s sexiest woman.

If nothing else, you have to tip your hat to Gudjohnsen and Lopez’s staying power.
