SECOND-HALF GOALS from Barry Molloy, Stephen McLaughlin and Simon Madden helped Derry City to a 4-2 aggregate win over Linfield in the Setanta Cup tonight. The hosts had endured an initial scare when Philip Lowry put Linfield ahead.
Sligo Rovers also enjoyed a two-goal aggregate win, after drawing 1-1 in the match tonight against Glentoran. A last-minute Danny North penalty sealed their progression.
Meanwhile, Bohemians crashed out after a 2-0 home loss to Crusaders – Declan Caddell and David McMaster scored the goals for the visitors.
And finally, Shamrock Rovers eventually won out, despite losing 2-0 on the night against Cliftonville. The Hoops progressed 3-1 on penalties, courtesy of successful spot kicks from Billy Dennehy, Chris Turner and Graham Gartland.
Crusaders will now play Sligo in the semi-finals of the competition, while Rovers have been drawn with Derry.
