John Mullane and Tony Browne set to be part of Waterford U21 hurling management

The two Deise legends look like turning their hand to management.

TONY BROWNE AND John Mullane are set to be part of the Waterford U21 hurling management team this year that will be recommended for ratification by the county board executive.

The two Waterford legends are part of a five man team that will see last year’s minor hurling boss Derek Lyons become the U21 hurling manager.

A Waterford GAA spokesperson confirmed to TheScore.ie tonight that the proposed management team will be recommended by the executive and will then be subject to ratification by the county board.

Mullane and Browne enjoyed brilliant playing careers with Waterford as they both won four Munster senior titles and a National League medal in 2007. Mullane claimed five Allstars in 2003, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Browne retired last April at the age of 41 after winning three Allstars in 1998, 2006 and 2007. He was also the Hurler of the Year in 1998.

Waterford last won the Munster U21 hurling crown in 1994 while they have been drawn this year in a provincial quarter-final away to Cork on June 17th.
