Katie Taylor's Dublin showdown against Amanda Serrano postponed
LAST UPDATE | 28 Feb 2023
KATIE TAYLOR’S DUBLIN showdown against Amanda Serrano has been postponed, with talks now taking place about a revised date.
It has been confirmed that the Puerto Rican suffered an injury which will prevent her from taking part in a full training camp prior to the scheduled 20 May clash.
The fight was confirmed in early February after the Serrano defeated Erika Cruz to become the undisputed featherweight champion.
Uncertainty had reigned over the venue, however, with the 3Arena set to stage the fight after extensive plans for a blockbuster homecoming in Croke Park fell through.
A brief statement from promoters Matchroom Boxing and Most Valuable Promotions confirmed that Serrano had suffered an injury.
“The teams are in discussion about finding a revised date for the bout. Further details will follow in due course.”
