Peyton Manning shows his class with this lovely gesture to a grieving family

15-year-old Denver Broncos fan, Logan Brown, was killed by a drunk driver in March.

PEYTON MANNING LIFTED the spirits of a grieving family on Tuesday, when he sent an autographed photo of himself accompanied by a handwritten letter to deceased Logan Brown’s grandmother on what would have been the youngster’s birthday.

The young Denver Broncos fan was killed in a head-on-collision with another car that was driven by a man whose blood alcohol level was four times above the legal limit.

Brown’s grandmother, Gayle Ricketts, later wrote a letter to the quarter-back telling him about her grandson.

“As a grandmother, I felt like I should let Peyton know this young man idolised him and what he meant in his life,” Ricketts told WFIE-TV in Evansville.

On what would have been her grandson’s 16th birthday, a package arrived from Manning containing a letter in which he explained how honoured he was that her grandson was such a big fan and offered his condolences to the family.

It blew me away. I called Charles[Logan's father] when the letter came. I didn’t even open it. I called Charles to come over. I said the Broncos answered me.

Charles explained that his family was extremely touched by the gesture, and it is something they will always cherish.

“To take the time to send something back to a situation in Evansville, Indiana that he probably doesn’t know anything about,” he said.

“It’s important to see that they’re humans and for these other kids to see you never forget where you come from. And I know Logan is up there looking down. He’s smiling. I think he will be happy.”
