VIDEO: Liverpool squad appear on American Idol

Fresh from knocking Everton out of the FA Cup, the squad got suited and booted for the talent show.

“WEVE GOT A special message from across the pond for you.”

It’s not often we look to Ryan Seacrest for a quote on TheScore.ie (we get enough of him watching TV with the missus) but on this occasion it’s different, he is introducing Liverpool.

We’re sure the good ol’ boys at Fenway Park won’t mind the little extra brand exposure coming from their team appearing on American Idol, but the actual /official reason for the cameo was as a boost to Scouse hopeful, Hollie Cavanagh.

According to the Reds’ website (we wouldn’t know much about karaoke over here, obviously) Cavanagh, 18, moved away from Merseyside 10 years ago and has impressed the judges with her renditions of ‘Rolling in the deep’ and ‘Son of a preacher man’.

Evidently, she still holds a place in her heart for Liverpool. And the sights and sound of Jamie Carragher leading the flattest, least enthusiastic ‘good luck’ you’ve ever heard, was music to her ears.

What price she belts out YNWA before the contest is over?
