Ireland goalkeeper Keiren Westwood could be set for Premier League move - reports

Westwood could be about to add to the Irish contingent at Hull City.

PREMIER LEAGUE NEW boys Hull City are leading the chase for Ireland goalkeeper Keiren Westwood, with manager Steve Bruce reportedly ready to meet his £2 million buy-out clause, according to reports.

The 31-year-old, who was part of Ireland’s squad for Euro 2016, has been with Sheffield Wednesday for the past two years, and was named in the Championship Team of the Season in his first year with the Owls.

Westwood, who has won 17 international caps for Ireland, enjoyed another successful season last year with Wednesday as they just missed out on a place in Premier League by losing to Hull in the play-off final in May.

It is understood that Bruce is also considering making a bid for other goalkeepers including Cardiff City’s Scotland international David Marshall or Crystal Palace reserve Alex McCarthy.

Should Westwood join Hull, he would join Irish pair Brian Lenihan and David Meyler at the KC Stadium.
