PITY GORKA IRAIZOZ. It looked as if the Athletic Bilbao shot-stopper had achieved every goalkeeper’s dream of a 95th minute match-saving goal only to be cruelly robbed by a bizarre refereeing decision.
With his side 1-0 down, Iraizoz came up for a last-gasp free kick and his bullet header gave his opposite number no chance in the Malaga goal.
However, as the Bibao players wheeled away in celebration referee Antonio Lahoz decided there was an infringement in the build-up – though not one we can see – and ruled the goal out.
