Joey Barton slams Opta, describes statisticians as 'sad, lonely people'

A website has revealed that the midfielder has made more misplaced passes than any other outfield player in the league.

QPR MIDFIELDER JOEY Barton has attacked Opta, along with the website WhoScored.com, after it revealed that the QPR midfielder had made more inaccurate passes than any other outfield in the Premier League.

Barton, who was booed last night after being substituted with 20 minutes remaining of his side’s match against Liverpool, said: “98% of stats are produced by sad lonely people who have mastered the art of masturbation.”

He then added:

“357 misplaced passes in 29 games. Interesting. Could the fiends who produce this nonsense tell me how many successful passes in comparison?”

But the website had, in fact, pre-empted Barton’s question, revealing that he has made 969 passes by comparison.

The QPR midfielder has become renowned for his outspoken nature in recent months, owing to attacks on various people, ranging from Wolves midfielder Karl Henry to British politician Ed Miliband.
