BY NOW, THE start of Louis van Gaal’s tenure as Manchester United boss has been dissected in almost every way possible but one thing we haven’t heard that much about is how LVG is adapting off the pitch.
Van Gaal has coached in glamorous cities like Amsterdam, Munich and Barcelona and while Manchester is nice too, it is probably a little different to what he is used to.
He was asked at a press conference yesterday how he is settling in, which prompted van Gaal to unleash a tirade… of niceties about the food, the wine and his neighbours.
It is nice that van Gaal is personally enjoying Manchester because it was about this time last year when his rival across the city, Manuel Pellegrini, gave an interview revealing how lonely he was since his family live in Chile.
But the local Mancunians seem to have taken to van Gaal too. Remember this sign upon his arrival?
