Oh the irony! Turns out Gary Neville is a self-hating Scouser
REMEMBER GARY NEVILLE? The ex-Man United footballer turned pundit who once said the following: “I can’t stand Liverpool, I can’t stand the people, I can’t stand anything to do with them.”
Well, it turns out the inveterate Liverpudlian-hater is in fact a Liverpudlian.
The Dail Mail reports that Neville’s Scouse background will be revealed in a quiz show set to air on Friday.
A League of Their Own host James Corden will inform Neville that his great, great, great grandparents were from Liverpool.
The star reacts to the news with a one-word expletive, while refusing to wear a Liverpool shirt with his name on the back, which his colleagues had made especially for the show.
Reports that Jamie Redknapp spoke of his fellow pundit as being “literally left red-faced” have yet to be confirmed.
